Cayman: Police recover a handgun and drugs in George Town
On Friday 15 July, police executed a search warrant under the Firearm Law (2008 Revision) at a residence in the Tropical Gardens area of George Town which resulted in three persons being arrested. During the search, one loaded hand gun and a quantity of ganja was recovered. A 26-year-old man, a 45-year-old woman and a 18-year-old woman, all of George Town, were subsequently arrested and kept in custody as the investigation progressed.
The 26-year-old George Town man has now been formally charged with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm, Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm (Ammunition), Possession of Ganja with Intent to Supply and Possession of Drug Utensils, while the 45-year-old-woman has been formally charged with Possession of Ganja with Intent to Supply and Possession of Drug Utensils. Both persons appeared in court today, Monday 18 July where the man was remanded to HMP and the woman was offered court bail. Both will return to the Grand Court on Friday 5 August, 2022.
The 18-year-old-woman was bailed pending further investigations.
