Cayman: RCIPS Traffic Advisory Post Hurricane Beryl

From RCIPS

Following Hurricane Beryl, when it was safe to do so police carried out patrols throughout the Cayman Islands to assess any damage that may have occurred throughout the islands.

During our patrols we’ve observed that South Sound Road, from the intersection at Old Crewe Road appears to be unsafe and impassable by motorists. That section of the roadway will be blocked until further notice due to the significant damage to the roadway and excessive debris.

Other roads have been seen to have fallen trees and utility lines, which were cleared by other emergency services prior to the all-clear being given, ensuring that the roads are safe for the public to traverse.

The RCIPS would like to thank the public for their cooperation throughout the hurricane and encourage everyone to continue to be safe and to exercise caution while traversing the roads during these continued inclement weather conditions.
