From Cayman Islands Ministry of Employment and Border Control.

On Monday,  5 August 2019, at approximately 10:30am, the Inspections Unit (OSH) of the Department of Labour & Pensions (DLP) was informed of a workplace injury. The incident took place at a construction site by Vela Phase 2 at #845 South Sound.

The injured male employee fell from a height of about 20 feet and was reported to be conscious with a visible head wound when emergency services arrived on the scene.

The individual was rushed to the Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town and was undergoing treatment when the OSH inspectors arrived. 

This matter is now under investigation by the DLP.
