Cayman: Resumption of Garbage Collection

Grand Cayman, July 4, 2024 – The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) is announcing the resumption of garbage collection in all islands and is seeking residents’ patience and understanding as collection teams have been already deployed.

Following the declaration of All-Clear following the passage of the Hurricane Beryl, DEH collection crews came out and are already on the road completing garbage collections. However, routes scheduled for collection on Thursday will be completed on Friday, July 5, 2024 and the routes schedule for Friday will be done on Saturday, July 6, 2024.

Regular operations at all landfills will resume on Friday, July 5, 2024. Members of the public are also encouraged to use the 24-hour drop-off site at the entrance of the landfill which will remain open to facilitate the disposal of small amounts of waste from residential customers, if necessary.

Given the current weather situation, members of the public are asked to be patient whilst the DEH team continues to work hard and remain committed to resume its regular services.
