Cayman Rugby welcomes Middlebury
There was plenty of rugby over the weekend in South Sound with Middlebury College Rugby Club visiting for a three game series.
The Cayman Rugby Union has played host to some quality U.S. college sides in recent years, such as Dartmouth, Princeton and Loyola, and Middlebury from Vermont is again providing stiff competition as Cayman prepares for its busy international schedule this year.
Middlebury’s recent achievements include winning the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association in 2012 and they have been champions in various competitions numerous times in recent years.
The first match was played on Sunday against a Cayman Select XV – a combined team from Iguanas and Cayman Storm. Middlebury play another Cayman Select side, comprising of players from the Pigs Trotters and Buccaneers on Tuesday, with kickoff at 4 p.m. Middlebury’s last game is on Friday against a Cayman national side, with kickoff again at 4 p.m.
All games are free to watch at the South Sound Rugby Ground or viewable online on: www.caymanrugbytv.com
