Cayman: Savannah Post Office reopens
CAYMAN ISLANDS (GIS) – Savannah Post Office reopens this week for residents of the eastern districts on Wednesday, 27 May and Thursday, 28 May 2020.
Savannah’s operations will match the Airport Post Office’s current opening hours and services, which are:
· Wednesdays – 9am – 3pm (for persons with surnames and businesses with names starting with A – K).
· Thursdays – 9am – 3pm (for persons with surnames and businesses with names starting with L – Z).
Services available will include:
· Domestic mail service
· International Mail Service (outgoing service is currently limited to the United States)
· Sale of stamps
· Post box rental payments
· Utility bill payments
o Water Authority bill payments
o CUC bill payments
o Logic bill payments
The Cayman Islands Postal Service (CIPS) is planning to reopen the West Bay Post Office on Wednesday, 3 June and Thursday, 4 June, 2020. Again, the operating days, times and services offered will mirror those of the Airport and Savannah Post OfficInside es.
Inside all post offices customers are required to follow COVID-19 prevention guidelines, by remaining at least six feet away from any other person and wearing face masks or face coverings.
Update on Incoming International Mail
In other news the Postal Service reports that it has received a small amount of mail from Trinidad and Germany- its first incoming mail dispatch since re-opening at the end of April.
The Postal Service worked with a local company to sanitise the mail which will receive processing priority and will be delivered into post boxes this week.
