From NRA
Phase 1 Centre Lane Turn
The National Roads Authority (NRA) is pleased to announce the launch of the Shamrock
Road/Hirst Road Safety Improvement Project.
Phase one is scheduled to take place from August 21 st to August 23 rd . During this period, the
NRA will oversee the installation of a dedicated Right Turn Lane for the Savannah Post Office
and a Centre Turn Lane from the Savannah Post Office to the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
These improvements are designed to reduce congestion and minimize the risk of accidents at
these key intersections.
This essential initiative is designed to enhance road safety near the Savannah Primary School,
a high-traffic area that serves as a vital corridor for students, parents and the community at
large.
Phase 1 Turning Lane
Motorists are reminded to drive with caution and pay close attention to all signage and
instructions provided by the road work crew.
The NRA strongly recommends all East and West bound traffic use the East/West Arterial for
commute into George Town as it has now expanded to include 2 east and westbound lanes.
The NRA is committed to enhancing road safety across the Cayman Islands and appreciates
the community’s patience and cooperation as we undertake these vital improvements.
