Cayman: Single-vehicle fatal collision on Rex Crighton Blvd, 27 March

Just after 10:30AM today, 27 March, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to Rex Crighton Boulevard, where it was reported that a single vehicle collision occurred involving one male occupant. The occupant of the vehicle was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital and was pronounced dead by an attending doctor.
The eastbound lane between Chime Street and Hirst Road and the westbound lane between Hirst Road and Double Tree Lane on Rex Creighton Blvd are currently closed while officers carry out investigations.
Members of the public are directed to refrain from sharing images of the collision, especially images of the victim.
The matter is under investigation by the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit (TRPU) and anyone with information is being encouraged to call the TRPU office during regular business hours at 649-6254.
