Grand Cayman, October 10, 2023 – The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) is advising members of the public that the smoke observed this afternoon (October 10, 2023) at the landfill is not the result of a landfill fire. Instead, these emissions were the result of the operations of the incinerator located on the same compound. The situation has already been assessed and corrected.
