Cayman Spirits launches new Outpost attractions at Pedro St James, new happy hour Sea Sessions
This is the second retail location opened by Cayman Spirits, which has plans to expand the unique concept to more locations around the island. The rum tastings are available to all guests for $5, which includes a sampling of up to 5 of the local rums made at Cayman’s only distillery, based in George Town.
Visitors to Pedro now have the option to stop in for some refreshments and learn about Cayman’s unique local spirits after taking in the cultural and historical tour on site.
The new Outpost bar will also feature a new rum being launched by Cayman Spirits Co. that will only be available at Pedro. The Rum is going to be called “1780” named after the year in which the original building was built by William Eden. The rum blend will be blended by Cayman Spirits as well as one of the descendants of William Eden, who happens to have some rum blending experience of his own. The rum will be aged in a unique barrel that will be located on site at Pedro St. James.
The Outpost will be kicking things off by launching a new weekly event, Sea Sessions, featuring happy hour specials, a local BBQ and live local music every Friday from 5:00pm till late. Pre-release samples of the 1780 rum will be available for tastings this Friday at the new Sea Sessions happy hour.
“We are very excited about the partnership with Pedro and the Tourism Attraction Board, and we are looking forward to working closer with them to add a new point of interest in this already distinguished national attraction.” Said Nelson Dilbert, of Cayman Spirits Co.
Is it possible to buy the 1780, and be shipped to the US. We were there in February, and did the tasting. Love this dark rum. Can you get us in touch of the owner?
Thank you,
