(Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands – 11 April 2024) – Prominent members of the Cayman Islands corporate community delivered their monetary pledges of support for the 2024 Deputy Governor’s 5k Challenge on Tuesday 9 April 2024. Sponsors were greeted by Deputy Governor Hon. Franz Manderson and DG’s 5K Committee Mrs. Jennifer Ahearn in the lobby of the Government Administration Building for a special photo op, where they were briefed on this year’s beneficiaries. 

The 2024 recipients are all youth-focused philanthropic organisations – Boys 2 Men, NCVO Cayman Islands and the Addison Kelly Memorial Scholarship. Deputy Governor Manderson expressed his gratitude for the work of the organisations, stating “This year’s beneficiaries share a common objective in making the lives of local youth better through hands-on engagement and programming. By taking early intervention, the children and young adults who receive services from these charities are better positioned to display positive social behaviours from now through their adult lives.”

The 2024 DG’s 5k Challenge has attracted over 20 major sponsors from the private sector, with Appleby leading as this year’s Platinum Sponsor.
