Cayman: Stabbing incident in George Town

The second court appearance of the man, age 19 of George Town, who was charged with Wounding in relation to a stabbing on Sound Way on 31 August, was brought forward to yesterday, 7 September. He appeared in court and was remanded into custody until 18 September.
Correction: The man had been remanded following his initial appearance, not bailed as originally stated.

A man, age 19 of George Town, has been charged with Wounding in relation to the stabbing which took place on Sound Way on Monday, 31 August, 2020. He appeared in court on Friday, 4 September, and was bailed.

Shortly before 5:00PM yesterday, 31 August, officers responded to a report of a stabbing at an address on Sound Way, in George Town. An altercation occurred between two men known to each other, when one man stabbed the other multiple times. Emergency services attended the scene and the victim was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment for life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital in serious but stable condition. The suspect left the location before the arrival of police.
The matter is currently under investigation and anyone with any information is asked to contact George Town CID at 949-4222.
