From RCIPS 26 Nov 2019

Just before 2PM, yesterday 25 November, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a location on North Church Street, George Town, where it was reported that a man had experienced difficulties whilst diving and was being brought to shore by the boat he was out with.

When the boat arrived, CPR was administered to the man by officers from the Cayman Islands Fire Service with the assistance of police officers until the arrival of EMS. The man was transported to the hospital by ambulance where he was later pronounced dead.

The 72-year-old-man is from Mississippi, USA, and is a visitor to the Cayman Islands. The matter is under investigation.
