Cayman: Supermarkets to close at 8pm/New Hours for Treasury GAB Counter
Further to the HSI announcement today that they have confirmed a further 2 cases of Covid-19 in Cayman and in an effort to update everyone so that we are all;
1. Compliant with the law
2. Safe in terms of ensuring the spread of Covid-19 is kept to an absolute minimum or halted.
Please be advised that as of tomorrow, TUESDAY 24th March 2020 the Government of the Cayman Islands have implemented a curfew for all persons in the Cayman Islands and all residents, with the exception of emergency personnel and those essential services workers with corporate ID and with a letter from their place of employment (eg CUC, Water Authority etc.) and approved by the RCIPS, must be at home from 9pm to 5am. This curfew will be in place for 10 days and will be re-assessed after this time. Supermarkets will be closed at 8pm in order to ensure all residents are able to be home by 9pm.
Failure to comply with the curfew will result in arrest without warrant, a fine of $3000.00 and/or imprisonment for 1 year.
In addition to the curfew, the Government have also reduced the amount of people who can congregate in any one area from 50 persons to 10 persons and strict adherence of the 6ft distancing between each person must be observed.

New Hours for Treasury GAB Counter
In light of the COVID-19 outbreak and the recent changes to Cayman’s retail banking hours of operation from, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, please note that effective Tuesday, 24 March 2020, the Treasury Cashier’s new hours will be from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm daily until further notice.
