Cayman: Today in Parliament – Summary 7 December 2022 -National Lottery/Decriminalisation of small quantities of cannabis?
During today’s sitting, 7 December 2022, Members of Parliament debated Government Motion No. 3/2022-2023 seeking a referendum on National Lottery and Decriminalisation of Small Quantities of Cannabis.
The motion seeks a declaration whether these are two matters of national importance and whether Government should bring a bill to enable a referendum to determine the electors’ views on these issues.

The Gambling (Amendment) Bill was presented for a second reading and debated briefly before the House adjourned. Discussions are set to continue tomorrow Thursday 8 December 2022.
