Cayman: Two men arrested in relation to the recovery of forged notes

Police had cause to attend the public beach on Wednesday, 19 July in relation to possible illegal activities being carried out at the location.
Officers attended the location, stopped, and searched a man who appeared to fit the description of the male believed to be carrying out illegal activities. During the search several USD $100 forged notes were located and the man, age 33, of West Bay, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession of forged notes.
Following the arrest, two searches warrants were carried out at addresses believed to have been connected to the arrested man.
Further USD $100 forged notes were recovered at one of the residences and another man, age 34, of North Side was also arrested in relation to this recovery. Both men have since been bailed while investigations into this incident continues.
The RCIPS is advising the public to pay close attention when exchanging cash to ensure that the bills you are receiving are authentic, especially when handling large denomination of US dollar bills at this time.
