Cayman: Two Men Charged for West Bay Burglary

On Wednesday morning, 27 September, officers responded to a report of a burglary at a restaurant on Reverend Blackman Road, West Bay. It was reported that earlier that morning two persons had broken into the bar area of the restaurant and taken a quantity of items.
Later that day, following enquiries, officers arrested a man, age 43 of West Bay, on suspicion of burglary in relation to the incident. During a search of his person, a quantity of suspected cocaine was recovered. He was further arrested for drug offenses. The following day, 28 September, officers arrested a second man, age 31 of West Bay, on suspicion of burglary in relation the incident. Officers had cause to request the man submit to a drug test, however, he refused.
Both men have now been formally charged with Burglary. The 43-year-old was also charged with Possession of Cocaine, and the 31-year-old with Failure to Provide a Specimen of Urine. They appear in court on Monday, 2 October.
