Cayman Under-19 National Rugby team wins crown
The Cayman Islands Under-19 National Rugby team beat Mexico 42-17 on Saturday (13) to win the North America and Caribbean Rugby Association (NACRA) regional title. This is the third straight time Cayman has won this title and the team’s fifth regional crown in six years.
Mexico took a 7-0 early lead until Cayman’s Henry Bolton scored a try and Michael Peck’s conversion tied the score.
At half time Cayman led Mexico 13-10 but overwhelmed Mexico in the second half scoring another 29- points to Mexico’s 7.
Bolton scored 2 tries and Andy Hall, Miles Campbell, Jonny Gibson and Mark Westin each scored one try.
Michael Peck added two penalties and finished with three conversions.
