Cayman: Update – Serious collision in George Town now a Fatality

Update (18 June):
Police can confirm that the 84-years-old woman that was involved in the serious collision in George Town on Saturday 11 June, passed away at the George Town Hospital on Thursday 16 June, 2022.
The RCIPS expresses condolences to the friends and family of the deceased.
The collision is currently under investigation and police are encouraging anyone information or who may have witnessed the incident to contact the George Town Police Station at 949-4222, or the Traffic & Roads Policing Unit at 649-6254.

Shortly before 3:40PM on Saturday, 11 June, officers responded to a collision at the Butterfield Roundabout involving a grey Toyota Vitz and a white Honda CR-V-EX. The Honda CR-V-EX also collided with a parked Kia Sorento on North Sound Road, in the vicinity of Animal House.
Emergency Services attended the location and the driver of the Honda was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. She remains in hospital in stable but critical condition.
The driver of the Toyota was uninjured, while the passenger complained of pain, and sought medical attention.
The matter is currently under investigation and anyone with any information or who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the George Town Police Station at 949-4222, or the Traffic & Roads Policing Unit at 649-6254.
