Cayman Water-Related Death in East End

Shortly after 2:20PM yesterday, 2 December, officers responded to a report of a person in distress at a hotel on the Queen’s Highway in East End. It was reported that a woman had encountered difficulties when swimming in the hotel pool and lost consciousness. Persons nearby assisted her out of the water and contacted authorities. EMS and Fire Service staff attended the location and the woman was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital via ambulance. She was subsequently pronounced dead.
The woman, age 63, is a visitor from the United States.
