Just before 8AM on Friday 10 April, officers were on patrol when they stopped a silver Honda Accord at the junction of West Church Street and Town Hall Road  in West Bay. The vehicle was not bearing any license plates at the time. Officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle who was not able to provide valid identification. He provided a name and address that, after investigations were carried out, proved to be incorrect. The man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of providing a false name and address to the police.

After being placed under arrest, the 21-year-old-man of West Bay became aggressive and began resisting the officers. He was further arrested on suspicion of driving without being qualified and disorderly conduct. During the time that the man was in custody, he continued to behave in an aggressive manner, threatened the lives of the officers and assaulted officers.

On 11 April, the man was formally charged by the police with the following offenses:

1.       Breach of Curfew Order

2.       Giving a False Name and Address to a Police Officer

3.       Driving without Being Qualified

4.       Driving without Insurance

5.       Using a Vehicle with Expired Registration

6.       Using a Vehicle on a Road Without Certificate of Roadworthiness

7.       Disorderly Conduct

8.       Threats to Kill

9.       Disorderly Conduct at a Police Station

10.   Common Assault

The man appeared in court via video link on 14 April, and was remanded and bound over to appear again yesterday, 15 April where he was later granted bail.
