Cayman: Z99 & CITA Easter Egg Hunt launches online with thousands of dollars’ in prizes up for grab
99 Grand Cayman has teamed up with the Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA) to bring Cayman an online Easter Egg Hunt and raffle with thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes up for grabs.
To participate in the online hunt and go in the draw to win a share of prizes, people can register to play by visiting the Z99 website and pay a $10 entry fee.
Once players are registered, they can visit the CITA website where they will find 35 hidden eggs. Players click on the egg and enter their details. The more eggs that are found, the more entries they will receive in the raffle.
Prizes for the raffle have been donated by CITA members and include a one night stay in an ocean view room at the Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa, one night stay at the Marriott resort as well as brunch for two at their Anchor and Den restaurant, a $200 De Sunglass Man voucher, a half day snorkel charter and introduction scuba diving course from Shaggy’s Diving, a Five Star Charters gift bag, and 100’s of dollars’ worth of vouchers from restaurants like Macabuca, Rackams, Sandbar and much, much more.
The spread of COVID-19 and the stay at home executive order from Government locally and around the world, as well as restrictions on local restaurants and public gatherings has had an immense impact on local businesses, big and small.
“Tourism is currently one of the most affected aspects of the economy due to the outbreak of COVID-19,” said Jay Ehrhart, Executive Director at CITA.
“As this COVID-19 situation continues, we’re identifying issues and making recommendations and suggestions to the Government so we can make our way out of the crisis, back to business and into a new future,” said Mr Ehrhart.
Hurley’s Media was forced to cancel five events in the first half of this year due to the impacts of COVID-19, events that have huge community involvement and international attendance.
“Although we had to cancel our annual Z99 Easter Dig this year, we are excited by the opportunity to team up with CITA to keep this event going in a virtual format,” said Brydie Phillips, PR and Marketing Manager at Hurley’s Media.
“We are thrilled to be supporting CITA with this initiative but we’re also happy to bring some excitement around Easter to everyone living in Cayman who will not get to celebrate this holiday in 2020 as they usually would,” said Ms Phillips.
“We want to thank our members who have so generously donated prizes for the raffle, especially during this uncertain time,” said Mr Ehrhart.
The online raffle will open at 2pm Thursday 9th April and close at 5pm Wednesday 15th April. The raffle will be drawn Friday 17th April and winners will be notified via telephone or email.
