Cayman’s Captives Conference attracts business comedian

With less than two months to go until the annual Cayman Captive Forum kicks off, representatives of Cayman International Insurance have announced their keynote speaker, Greg Schwem.

A graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Schwem admits that he did not originally envision a career in comedy, but now performs as a corporate MC, comedian, and motivational speaker. He has provided business-themed entertainment at events for some of the world’s largest companies, including Microsoft, IBM, and ExxonMobil.

Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC) Chair Erin Brosnihan said she looked forward to welcoming Schwem, stating: “Greg is a man who is both smart and very funny and I am looking forward to hearing his unique perspective on the captive industry.”

The comic will deliver his presentation, titled “Work, Laugh, Repeat”, on the second day of the forum. “I’m going to show everyone how easy it is to laugh at business”, he explained. “Come to laugh, come to learn, come to network, and come for the great sessions.”

The Cayman Captive Forum attracts captive directors, chief financial officers, risk managers, captive insurance managers, and other service providers from around the world. This year’s forum will take place from Nov. 27 through 29 at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman.
