Cayman’s Chamber to host series of candidate forums

COClFor the last twenty years (since 1992) the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce has hosted a series of candidate forums and this year will be no exception.

For the sixth time  the Chamber will be doing the rounds of all the districts starting next month (Monday April 8 in East End).

Wanna-be politicians and incumbents will face questions derived from a public opinion survey the Chamber announced last Friday (8).

All nominated candidates will be invited to participate in the sessions, which will be broadcast live on Radio Cayman. They are open to the public and audiences will be given an opportunity to submit further questions through the moderator on the evening of the event. The candidates do not get to see the questions beforehand and all are expected to answer spontaneously.

forums-300x299The Chamber forums in the past have proved to be successful and enlightening evenings, very different from the public meetings and campaign rhetoric that will dominate the hustings during the campaign.

The Chamber has already set the dates and venues for the events, which are attached, but sponsors for the forums are urgently needed.  Anyone that can help or needs more information is asked to contact Kerry Pratt at [email protected] or 743-9126.

All Forums begin at 7PM
