Chief Justice finds in favour of Rivers – she was eligible to stand in election
The Chief Justice, Hon. Anthony Smellie, in delivering his judgment in courtroom 5 in George Town, Grand Cayman today (9) on the challenge to Minister Tara Rivers right to be elected, has upheld her residency question. He has ruled she was deemed a student, as she was furthering herself in her profession.
The Chief Justice has just announced that her dual passport also did not prevent her from being disqualified.
Therefore Hon. Tara Rivers keeps her West Bay seat.
