China’s Foreign Minister to Caribbean Tour and UN General Assembly
Beijing, Sep 19 (Prensa Latina) Foreign Minister of China, Wang Yi, to take off this week on the first tour of the year to the Caribbean and later to New York leading his delegation to the U.N. General Assembly.
According to the program released here, the Foreign Minister will open the tour with an official visit to the Dominican Republic, whose government last May 1 established diplomatic relations with Beijing.
He will there hold talks with his pier, Miguel Vargas, about the state of relations and issues of mutual interest.
After that, Wang Yi will continue trip to Guyana and Suriname where he will review a similar agenda with his peers, Carl Gary Greenidge and Yidiz Deborah Pollack-Beighle, respectively.
The Chinese Foreign Minister will close these official visits to the Caribbean on September 23 and two days later is scheduled to speak at the United Nations General Assembly.
