CIAA gives update on DHL cargo plane that made emergency landing at ORIA
The DHL cargo plane was travelling from Miami to Costa Rica when engine trouble forced the plane to land at ORIA. The IL-76 spent approximately two hours in Grand Cayman while the replacement engine was unloaded and the defective engine was loaded onto the IL-76. A crew of technicians were flown in specifically to remove the defective engine and install the replacement. The DHL cargo plane is expected to leave Cayman after the successful instillation and testing of the replacement engine is completed, this process should take a few days to complete.
