Cayman Island Real Estate Brokers Association (CIREBA) named the 2013 CIREBA Agent of the Year at their Annual Christmas Celebration. Ms. Patty Nugent from Cayman Islands Sotheby’s International Realty was the recipient of the prestigious honor.

Patty has a strong background in construction management and project development, as well as nearly 20 years of sales and marketing experience. With a strong connection to the community, Patty is one of North Side and East End’s most trusted real estate professionals.

The Agent of the Year is an award that is chosen by the recipient’s peers and is significant as it reflects the agent’s professionalism and how they have interacted with other CIREBA agents and brokers throughout the year. This is especially important since the success of CIREBA’s Multiple Listing System depends upon cooperation between members and the professionalism of its agents. Each CIREBA agent can vote their choice for Agent of the Year.

CIREBA started in 1987 and governs the majority of Cayman’s independently owned real estate businesses. It also maintains and operates the island’s Multiple Listing System.  This system, known as the MLS, is becoming more widely used in major markets around the world having originated from the US and Canada. The MLS allows for properties listed through one CIREBA member company to be available for every CIREBA agent in every CIREBA member company to show and sell.  Prospective buyers therefore have access to literally billions of dollars worth of listings and sellers can be assured their properties will be presented to the widest possible market through their chosen CIREBA agent.
