CITA kicks off Cayman Islands Restaurant Month 2024 presented by Mastercard at industry launch event

24 September 2024, Grand Cayman- The Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA) in partnership with Mastercard hosted the industry launch event for this year’s much anticipated 2024 Cayman Islands Restaurant Month at the Kimpton Seafire Beach Deck. Restaurant owners, chefs, sponsors and distinguished guests including CITA President Mr. Troy Leacock and Director of Tourism Ms. Rosa Harris were in attendance. 

Restaurant Month is an annual CITA event designed to drive traffic to local restaurants throughout October, and encourage and support growth in the restaurant industry. 

“We are so excited about Restaurant Month 2024 presented by Mastercard. Running for over 13 years, Restaurants Month highlights the vibrant diversity of Cayman’s restaurant sector and provides a collaborative platform to showcase culinary excellence in both the food and the guest experience.” said Troy Leacock, CITA President.

Mr Leacock added, “Restaurant Month 2024 is an exciting, collaborative effort by CITA, our restaurants and our sponsors to deliver excellent value to our guests in promoting Cayman as the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean and boost restaurant purchases using Mastercard”

Ms. Rosa Harris, Director of Tourism- Cayman Island’s Department of Tourism said, “We truly are the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean, not just because of the number of restaurants we have, but because of the quality. People are coming back because of what we deliver every single day.  We’re doing exceedingly well.” 

The partnership with Mastercard aims to elevate the month long Restaurant Month experience for card holders, serving staff and restaurants through exclusive incentives and rewards through Flavors by Mastercard by using their Mastercard debit or credit card to pay for meals at participating Restaurant Month venues. 

Restaurant Month will be taking place at over 50 restaurants in Grand Cayman from 1 October to 31 October. With 3 course meals for lunch starting at $15.00 and dinner starting at $30.00 patrons will have the opportunity to feast on delicious foods around the island and experience new locations they have not ventured to before. 

Restaurant Month is made possible through sponsorship support. This year’s sponsors include GoodTaste Cayman, Tower Marketing, Ministry of Financial Services and Commerce, McCormick, DMS Broadcasting, Britcay, Home Gas, Seaboard Marine, Cayman Islands Department of Tourism & Cayman Marl Road.
