CITN Cayman 27 celebrates 20 years on Daybreak

Yesterday (10) was the 20th anniversary of Cayman International Television (Caribbean) Network’s (CITN) first live broadcast of a television signal on UHF Channel 27.

Daybreak, the television station’s morning show, did a trip down memory lane with footage showing the early years right up to the present date.

The invited guests were the original Daybreak hosts Barrie Quappe and Clive Rosteing, the very first advertiser Fosters Food Fair represented by Woody Foster, other former hosts Charles Glidden and Ashleigh Lund (Saladino) and the founders Joan Wilson (whose birthday was also on the 10th) and Colin Wilson who was also Programme Director and presenter of some of the televised shows.

A beautiful 78th birthday cake was presented to Mrs. Wilson.

Everybody gave their thoughts and memories in an hour’s show that flew by. Both Station Manager, Mike Martin and WestStar CEO Rod Hansen, were praised in the presentation.

iNews Cayman sends it congratulations to everyone working at CITN and it is now official that CITN’s parent company WestStar TV has been sold to new owners.
