CKIA ATC Trainees return from Trinidad
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (11 February 2016) Charles Kirkconnell International Airport’s (CKIA) Air Traffic Control trainees Eric Bodden and Carley Lazzari recently returned to Grand Cayman after successfully completing four months of intensive training at the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Training Centre.
The two young Caymanians embarked on their journey to Trinidad in September 2015 where they were trained in Air Traffic Control with a main focus on Aerodrome Control. The next step will be on-the-job training with a qualified Air Traffic Control Instructor.
The Cayman Islands Airports Authority’s CEO Albert Anderson said, “This is another boost for our Air Traffic Control unit and I would like to congratulate the ATC trainees for all of their hard work in completing the course. I wish them every success in the future.”
The Airports Authority’s Air Traffic Control unit is tasked with ensuring the safe, orderly and expeditious flow of aircraft in our islands.
