CNCF: Dance Performances Postponed
The Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF) announces the postponement of the free Indian classical dance recitals by a visiting troupe from India that were scheduled for 14 and 15 November 2017 at the Harquail Theatre.
“Due to unfortunate circumstances beyond their control, the dance troupe from New Delhi is unable to visit at this time,” said CNCF Artistic Director, Mr. Henry Muttoo. “So we are sorry, and disappointed, to announce the postponement of the classical Kathak dance recitals that so many of us in Cayman were looking forward to very keenly.”
A spokesperson for the High Commission of India (Kingston, Jamaica) states that “the Kathak Dance Show planned for Jamaica, Cayman Islands and The Bahamas has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. We are working on the new date… The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.”
Mr. Muttoo added, “This would have been the first time that a troupe would have travelled all the way from India to perform in the Cayman Islands under our banner. We look forward to the rescheduling of such a performance.”
The presentations, in celebration of India’s 70th year of independence and scheduled to feature eight dancers travelling from India, were being facilitated by the CNCF for the Indian High Commission.
