Come to Camana Bay and join in the fight against breast cancer

Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities started at Camana Bay with the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens in the fight against breast cancer at the 2nd Annual Dress Pink! Day. The event will took place at Camana Bay last Friday 2 October from 5:30-7:30pm, in support of the Club’s 2012 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

“As a centre for health and wellness, Camana Bay saw a great opportunity to play a part in the fight against breast cancer, a disease that affects many people within our community and around the world,” said Davina Tresidder, Events Manager at Camana Bay. “We wanted to host an event that didn’t only raise awareness, but also funds. Many of our Town Centre merchants already organise their own Breast Cancer Awareness Month initiatives – and by pulling them all together for one grand event we can motivate the community to come out and get involved.”

Everyone was encouraged to support the cause by wearing a shade of pink and the first 100 people to arrive in pink enjoyed a complimentary glass of Fantinel Rose, courtesy of Cayman Distributors.

For those lacking a splash of colour in their wardrobe, limited edition Camana Bay Pink Warrior and Pink Ribbon t-shirts were available for purchase for a minimum donation of CI$10.

Volunteers from the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens were on hand to receive donations and those who give CI$5 or more were entered into a raffle for the chance to win fabulous prizes from Camana Bay merchants. Caribbean Canvas Company also joined the cause by donating a portion of sales made from the purchase of pink items during the event.

Fitness enthusiasts can now join ENERGY Pilates, Fitness and Yoga on Saturday 13 October for Pilates for Pink… BOOTCAMP EDITION at Camana Bay’s Arts & Recreation Centre. A fun and fit way to support the cause, registration is CI$20 and includes an eco-friendly tote bag filled with great goodies, as well as a host of amazing random prize draws. All proceeds will go o the Cayman Islands Cancer Society to help provide financial assistance to patients and their families.
