“Coming Home” to Schooner’s Bar & Grill at Cayman Turtle Farm

Coming Home AdA new monthly event started at Schooner’s Bar & Grill last Friday, 29th May. Planned to take place on the last Friday of each month, “Coming Home: An evening of Caymanian food and entertainment” will feature a live band and a monthly set menu of local favourites.

Music will be provided by the Back Beat Band and there will be beverage specials throughout the evening.

The three course menu will be offered at US$50 person including one Appleton Special or Hennessey mixed drink or glass of wine. The menu is offered without alcohol at US$45 with lemonade or fruit punch.

Schooner’s Bar & grill will also offering be offering Happy Hour pricing, with two Appleton Special mixed drinks for US$12 and two Hennessey mixed drinks for US$15 available throughout the evening.

Wine enthusiasts will enjoy two glasses of wine for the price of one.   The wine list for this offer includes Sutter Home Chardonnay, Sutter Home Merlot; Trivento Chardonnay; Trivento Merlot; Cavit Merlot; Yellow Tail Moscato; Yellow Tail Pink Moscato; Casillero del Diablo Sauvignon Blanc; and Trivento Tribu Pinot Noir.

The evening starts off at 5pm with the Happy Hour and dinner to follow at 7pm through 10pm. The Backbeat Band will play from 7pm to 11pm for guests’ listening and dancing pleasure.

The three course menu for the inaugural event includes a choice of Soup or Salad for the first course: Conch Chowder – Tomato based chowder served with saltines and a squeeze of lime or Local Mixed Greens Salad – Fresh tomatoes and cucumbers over hydroponically grown local greens drizzled with Balsamic Vinaigrette. For the Entrée, guests can choose from Cayman-Style Beef, served with Rice & Beans, Coleslaw, and Fried Plantain or Conch Fritters served with French Fries and Jerk Mayo, or Turtle Stew served with White Rice, Steamed Cassava, and Fried Plantain, or Grilled, Blackened, or Cayman Style Mahi-Mahi served with Rice & Beans, Steamed Cassava, and Fried Plantain. For Dessert, the choices are Coconut Cream Pie served with Grape Nut ice cream or a Cayman sea salted Caramel Brownie a la Mode.
