Concacaf NextPlay Social Program takes place in Chicago on Saturday, July 6 ahead of the 2019 Gold Cup Final at Soldier Field
The development grassroots program has been expanded throughout Gold Cup in an effort to promote further access to football within the region, while leveraging the power of the game to drive social change
WHAT: As part of the celebrations leading up to the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup Final on Sunday, July 7 at Soldier Field, the Confederation will be hosting its Concacaf NextPlay program, a grassroots development initiative, consisting of a training from Concacaf officials for coaches to deliver the NextPlay methodology in their local communities. The program that will be held on Saturday, July 6, is focused on utilizing the game to create safe spaces, while promoting social values. More information on Concacaf NextPlay is available here. After the coaches training, a football clinic for boys and girls from across the Concacaf region and the local community will be hosted.
WHO: The event will feature Concacaf General Secretary Philippe Moggio, Concacaf Director of Development Jason Roberts, Jamaica Women’s National Team Head Coach Hue Menzies, Chicago Sports Commission Executive Director Kara Bachman and Chicago Park District Deputy Chief Program Officer Timothy O’Connell.
