Concacaf: Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis roll in CU17 Qualifying
BRADENTON, Florida – Group D of 2019 Concacaf Under-17 Championship Qualifying resumed on Thursday with Puerto Rico and Saint Kitts and Nevis taking home clean sheet victories.
The Boricuas got a score in each half to top Martinique 2-0. Jose Luis Lopez broke the deadlock in the 27’ before Leandro Antonetti doubled the margin in the 47’ to polish off the scoreline.
In the day’s other game, Saint Kitts and Nevis enjoyed a strong finish to down Anguilla 4-0.
Micaah Dominique Garnette got things going early with a score in the 3’. But the Sugar Boyz would have to wait until the hour mark before they scored their second.
It would finally come from Rodgenique Hendricks in the 60’, followed by a Jaheem Nisbett goal in the 66’.
Saint Kitts and Nevis’ day would then be capped by an Anguilla own goal in the 86’ off of Sedu Bradshaw.
The day’s results leave Saint Kitts and Nevis, Martinique and Puerto Rico all with a chance of winning the group and advancing to the 2019 Concacaf Under-17 Championship.
The winner of the group will be decided on Saturday when Martinique squares off against Saint Kitts and Nevis, while Puerto Rico takes aim at Anguilla.
