CONCACAF Sports and Development Summit
CONCACAF is pleased to announce the 2013 Sports Summit “Transformation through Partnership,” to be hosted in the Cayman Islands on Tuesday, October 22nd at the Ritz Carlton (Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman).
Objective
The objective of the Summit is to enhance the vital partnership between governments and football federations, in order to improve the growth and development of the sport in the region while outlining initiatives in and encouraging sports tourism, as well as social and economic development.
At CONCACAF, building a stronger Confederation through the growth and development of football within our region is the highest priority on our agenda. Considering the evident benefits of the sport to health and social development, and the increasing economic impact of football within countries throughout the region, it is incumbent upon us to focus our efforts on continued growth and development.
Participants
Participants at the summit will include Ministers of Sport and Presidents of Football Federations from CONCACAF’s 41 Member Associations. Discussion topics will include:
• Players’ and coaches’ perspectives on how the game changed their lives;
• How Football impacts societies (including health, education, crime prevention);
• The economic benefits of football (sports tourism, hosting events, etc.);
• How to create successful partnerships.
