De La Torre’s Mexico tenure comes to an end

The Mexican Football Federation announced Saturday that it has relieved men’s national team head coach Jose Manuel de la Torre of his duties, following a 2-1 loss to Honduras in a World Cup Qualifying match just hours earlier.

Honduras wins at Mexico, jumps into third place

Honduras made history with a 2-1 victory over host Mexico on Friday in the final round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying.  The Central American power became just the second team to win a qualifier against Mexico at the Estadio Azteca, matching the feat of Costa Rica in 2001.

Costa Rica moved atop the final round table of World Cup Qualifying in CONCACAF on Friday behind a 3-1 triumph over the United States at the Estadio Nacional.

Panama, 10-man Jamaica play to scoreless draw

Panama missed a chance to jump over Mexico in the final round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying on Friday after 0-0 draw with 10-man Jamaica at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez.
