Coronation of Their Majesties to be celebrated in the Cayman Islands
The people of the Cayman Islands are preparing to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, who will be crowned alongside The Queen Consort at a ceremony at Westminister Abbey, London on Saturday, May 6.
The Islands will commemorate the Coronation with a special family-focused celebration on Cardinall Avenue, George Town on the official Coronation public holiday Monday, May 8 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m
The event is being hosted by Celebrate Cayman, Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture and Heritage, and the George Town Revitalisation Initiative.
“The ascension of a new monarch is a historic event and the Cayman Islands as a United Kingdom Overseas Territory will honour His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty the Queen Consort in a way that is true to our country’s culture. Fellowship, food as well as music and entertainment will be available for all to enjoy along with a special fireworks display. It will be a wonderful opportunity for families to spend time together as we mark this momentous occasion”, Celebrate Cayman Chairman Alfonso Wright stated.
