Grand Cayman – At 8a.m. on Tuesday, 9 November Chief Medical Officer Dr John Lee reported that 1,259 PCR tests had been conducted in the 24 hours since 8a.m. on Monday, 8 November.

The Public Health Department reported 73 positive results out of these tests as at 8a.m. on Tuesday, 9 November.     

Of these positive results, four were in travellers and 69 were from the community.

          These results brought the number of active cases of COVID-19 in the Cayman Islands to 2,185 as at 8a.m. on Tuesday, 9 November 

The total number of cases recorded since the start of the pandemic stood at 3,427 as at the same time.

Up to that point, 4,574 people were in isolation either in Government isolation facilities or at home.

In addition, there were 14 COVID-19 patients hospitalised in the Cayman Islands at 8a.m. on Tuesday, 9 November.

As at the same time, Faith Hospital confirmed there were 82 active cases in the Sister Islands, with four identified in the previous 24 hours.

The Public Health department also confirmed that up to 8a.m. on Tuesday, 9 November there had been 865 total positive lateral flow tests since the introduction of the lateral flow test programme in the Cayman Islands.

          Up to 8a.m. on Tuesday, 9 November there had also been 118,285 COVID-19 vaccinations given in total in the Cayman Islands. Of these, 57,105 people (80% of 71,106) had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 54,857 individuals (77%) had completed the two-dose course. 

Additionally, 6,323 people (representing 9% of the total population) had received a third or booster dose up to that point.
