Cricket: Cornwall in Test squad to face India
By Azad Ali from Caribbean Life
Off-spinner and all-rounder Rahkeem Cornwall is set to make his long-awaited Test debut after being named in a 13-man squad for the first Test against India starting next week in Antigua.
The burly 26-year-old is the only new face in the squad, which also includes uncapped Shamarh Brooks, who was a part of the team for the England series earlier this year but did not feature.
Cornwall has taken 260 wickets from 55 first-class matches at an average of 24, dominating for the West Indies A and for domestic franchise Leeward Islands Hurricane.
Hard-hitting opening batsman, Chris Gayle who wants to play a Test match before he retires from Test cricket was omitted from the squad. He will probably play in the second and final Test in his home ground, Jamaica.
