Criton Developments plan new community in Cayman Kai

It is proposed site preparation could begin late 2013 and construction over the next five to seven years.
The proposal is for a maximum developed area of 700,000 square feet, broken into four phases.
Phase 1 – Hotel, small marina, condos and utilities, involving up to 350,000 square feet with construction timeline between 2013 and 2015.
Phase 2 – Shopping, offices, a service station and boat storage, involving up to 120,000 square feet with construction timeline of between 2014 and 2018.
Phase 3 – Residences, apartments, a police outpost, community centre and park, involving up to 50,000 square feet with construction timeline of between 2016 and 2018.
Phase 4 – Retail, restaurant, offices and apartments, involving up to 180,000 square feet with construction timeline of between 2018 and 2020.
Hotel – Four-to-five storeys tall, with a maximum height of 65 feet and a density of 100 rooms per acre.
A PAD is a Planned Area Development application to the Central Planning Authority for mixed-use development for an area of more than 40 acres.
In an interview on CITN’s News27 programme Mr. Conolly said, “At the moment, a lot people have to go as far as Old Man Bay or even further to get the simplest things. Even a small pharmacy might be there, a doctor’s office – so it is a community based development of the region and we think positive of it.”
