Cuba and Cayman Islands pledged to orderly and safe migration
Havana, April 21 (Prensa Latina) Cuba and the Cayman Islands have today reaffirmed their pledge to implement joint actions to guarantee a regular, orderly and safe flow of migrants, the Cuban Foreign Ministry stressed.
According to a statement published by the Cuban Foreign Ministry in the 4th Bilateral Round of Migration Talks which was held from April 20th to 21st, in Havana, both parties agreed to increase the bilateral cooperation in the struggle against migrant smuggling and human trafficking.
The official delegations headed by the Director of Consular Affairs and Cuban Residents Abroad (DACCRE) of the Cuban Foreign Ministry and the Vice Governor General of the Cayman Islands, Franz Manderson, cordially and respectfully debated on the migratory flow and the illegal ways.
The text also stated that both parties also assessed the status of implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Migration in force between the two nations, and reiterated the significance of such meetings for the good progress of the bilateral ties.
