Daylight jewellery robbery
Three masked men terrified shoppers at a George Town jewellers during a daring daylight robbery.
The trio – armed with what’s thought to be hammers – carried out a raid at Magnum Jewellers on Cardinal Avenue
yesterday morning (22).
Police were at the scene of the crime carrying out a detailed search of the shop looking for fingerprints.
The robbers smashed a number of display cases and fled from the scene with a quantity of valuable jewellery.
A spokeswoman for the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said: “Police are currently on the scene of a robbery at Magnum Jewellers, Cardinal Avenue, George Town. The robbery was reported around 11:20 am.
“Initial reports suggest that three masked men entered the store armed with hammers, smashed display cases and made off with a quantity of jewellery.
“The suspects then entered a car and drove off from the scene. No-one was injured in the incident.”
