DCFS children celebrate the holidays at Cayman 27’s Christmas for Kids event
Cayman 27 has teamed up with the Department of Children and Family Services for the 24th year in hosting the Cayman 27’s Christmas for Kids event, bringing together over 100 local children who are within the social service programme.
The fun filled day included arts & crafts, sports, food, a visit and presents from Santa, finished with a movie at the cinema.
Shawna Marshall from Hurley’s Media said she was happy with the turn out of this annual gathering. “Christmas for Kids is a great occasion to give back to local children of all ages whom may not otherwise have an opportunity to experience these holiday festivities,” Marshall said.
This year Cayman 27 donated $9,779.28 to the Department of Children and Family Services.
“Christmas for Kids is possible thanks to the ongoing support of our sponsors,” said Marshall.
Paulinda Mendoza Williams, Director of the Department of Children and Family Services said this partnership with Cayman 27 is one very special to the children. “Christmas for Kids is always a great success with the children having a fun filled day where they can learn, play and enjoy the spirit of Christmas,” Williams said.
“We are also thankful for this monetary donation and will be used partially to purchase Christmas gifts for children in the community, including those on Cayman Brac, as well as other programmes throughout the year.”
