Death of David Albert Dedrick Announcement
The family of the late David Albert Dedrick, age 54 regrets to announce his passing – Sunrise May 10, 1958, Sunset May 23, 2012 – after a prolonged illness. He was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. Royal F. Dedrick.
David is survived by and was the beloved son of Rosemary A. Dedrick of Charlotte NC, nephew to Martha J. Shackleton of Alva FL, loving brother to “Spike” (Paul) and wife, Mabel of Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, Glenn and wife, Karen of Gastonia NC, Jonathan and wife, Christi of Fort Mill SC; beloved uncle to Angela, Heather and Dana. He will be sadly missed by extended family, a wealth of lifelong friends & associates and his church families in New Jersey and North Carolina.
David was a graduate of Upsala College, East Orange, New Jersey. He spent his years as a resident of New Jersey, California and finally North Carolina where he went peacefully to his heavenly reward. He was surrounded by his immediate family while receiving compassionate end-of-life care at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville, NC.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating the life of David Albert Dedrick beginning at 7PM Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at All Saints Episcopal Church, Gastonia NC. The Rev. Houston Matthews will officiate. The family will receive friends at 6PM immediately prior to the service at the church. Per his wishes, his earthly remains are to be cremated and scattered at sea by his family.
Per his explicit wishes, there are to be NO FLORAL TRIBUTES, however; donations in David’s name can be made to either Levine & Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078 or Cayman Hospice Care, P.O. Box 10614, 492 North Sound Road, Grand Cayman KY1-1006, Cayman Islands, a fully accredited 501c3 charitable organization for US taxpayers.
