December events at Camana Bay

47597523Camana Bay, Grand Cayman (Wednesday 4 December): It’s the most magical time of the year at Camana Bay when the Town becomes an incandescent winter wonderland filled with both holiday events and beloved weekly activities. From craft and artisans’ markets for one-of-a-kind gifts to special engagement screenings of The Nutcracker to the No Resolutions New Year’s Eve Party presented  by the restaurants of Camana Bay, the holiday spirit lives at Camana  Bay.

 

Christmas Evening Market

Enjoy the flavour of a traditional Caymanian Christmas as local farmers and artisans  line Market Street with fresh produce, h andcrafted products and Christmas goodies.

The Snow Queen

Internationally renowned  storytellers Barry Marshall and Jeri Burns – The Story crafters – perform the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale.

Cayman 27’s Parade of Lights

Boats aglow with thousands of brightly coloured lights parade  through The Harbour against a soundtrack of choirs while a Christmas market charms with local food and crafts. Enjoy an expansive viewing area including tiered seating at the new location on The Festival Green.

The Nutcracker at Regal Cinemas

Camana Bay presents  a limited engagement screening of The Nutcracker performance from the Royal Opera House. Tickets will be available at Regal Cinemas at $14 per adult and $10.50 per child – child tickets are valid for children 11 years and under.

No Resolutions – New  Year’s  Ev e  Fireworks  (2  Shows )

Tuesday 31 December 7:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m.

Bring in 2014 with fireworks over The Harbour that earn the term “spectacular.” For the early show, families can relax on The Crescent  or dine alfresco at one of the signature Camana Bay restaurants for the best  seats  in the house.  At 10pm, the restaurants of Camana  Bay present  the No Resolutions New Year’s Eve party for grown-ups.  DJ Tony Chen returns for the festivities which include dancing, live streaming of the Times Square ball drop and  waterfront bars  for those midnight toasts. No cover charge.

Kids’ Christmas Creations

Take advantage of a rare opportunity to prepare for the holidays while your children are engaged in exciting and fun-filled Christmas crafts. Drop children 12 and under off with the Starfish Village team in Gardenia  Court for up to two hours of supervised crafts while you do your Christmas shopping. Children 3 years- old and under taking part at this event must be accompanied  by an adult and kids should bring an apron or dress  in clothes  suitable  for art activities.

Imagination Playground

A fun, interactive concept  in play, kids can build, dream  and explore a new world every week while cooling off in the Town Centre’s  dancing  fountains. Made up of giant foam blocks in all shapes and sizes, little ones love making objects, like animals, rocket ships and robots; building imaginary places like houses, islands and cities; inventing new games  and dramatic scenarios;  or simply making new friends. Imagination Playground is on The Crescent  every Wednesday and Saturday,  and free for all to enjoy.
