Dengue Update: 15 positive cases
- There were 37 cases being investigated for dengue
- Results were received for 17 of these cases; 8 positives of whom 3 had a travel history to an endemic country
- There were 9 negatives
- There are 20 cases with pending results
As of week ending November 3, 2012:
- Total results received for 32 cases
- Results confirmed for 15 of the 20 pending cases as mentioned above
- 15 positives of which 5 were admitted to hospital
- Of the 15 cases, 8 have reported a travel history to endemic countries and remaining 7 had no travel history, suggesting that the dengue was acquired locally
- Distribution of confirmed cases: West Bay 11, Bodden Town 3 & George Town 1
- 17 negatives of which 2 were admitted to hospital, and
- Awaiting results of 5 from the 20 pending cases as of Oct 24
Since October 24, 2012:
- There were 13 new cases being investigated for dengue, of which 3 persons were admitted to hospital
- Total cases being investigated for dengue since the beginning of the year is now 50 cases
- 18 cases with results pending (5 prior to October 24 and 13 since).
- Although there were 2 children investigated for dengue to date, none have been tested positive
- Total hospital admissions: 10 (5 confirmed cases, 2 negatives and 3 pending results)
