Dep Gov and CO Minutes 24th June show need to improve performance management
“The Deputy Governor informed Chief Officers that he intends to use a version of a 360 Assessment for Chief Officers as part of their Performance Assessment. The Deputy Governor encouraged Chief Officers to use 360° Assessments as part of the Performance Assessment of Heads of Department.
“It was noted that Performance Assessments should be completed as soon as possible after the interim budget.”
“The relocation of staff due to the make up of Ministries/Portfolios, the hot topic in the previous (June 10th) minutes, was reported as “a smooth transition. So far, all Staff have been accommodated and there has not been any increase in headcount.”
The 2011/12 Annual HR Report was discussed as:
“The Annual HR Report was written for the Deputy Governor and Head of the Civil Service and contains information about key statistics and trends impacting human resources within the Civil Service and wider Public Service. The Deputy Governor informed Chief Officers that the Annual Report will be published.”
Other business:
The Deputy Governor has received a proposal from CIGTV for a programme that would air once or twice per month and would highlight various happenings within the Civil Service.
The second pilot of Youth Crime Prevention Days at Clifton Hunter High School.
Advisement of a one day course for Chief Officers interested in the legislative drafting process.
The Business and Professional Women’s Club of Cayman Brac Purple Dress Down Day.
The Interim Budget and the four-month Budget going to the Legislative Assembly.
The Cabinet Secretary and his policy team will work on a policy addressing the role of Councillors.
