Department of Children and Family Services thankful for annual food donations from Cayman Prep School in celebration of Harvest Event
GEORGE TOWN, CAYMAN ISLANDS – Nov. 28, 2023 –The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is delighted to announce the receipt of a generous donation from Cayman Prep and High School that will serve to provide food for numerous families this holiday season. This significant contribution aligns with the spirit of giving thanks and underscores the importance of working together to support children and families in need year round.
Cayman Prep and High School’s long-standing Harvest tradition is a testament to their dedication to
making a positive impact in Cayman. The annual donation, which started in 2015 is presented during the
festive event, and goes towards supporting the DCFS programmes and families, and aims to enhance the
well-being of children, promote family stability, and provide essential services to its many clients.
Acting Director Nicole Quinland for the Department of Children and Family Services, expressed sincere
gratitude for the school’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility. “We are truly grateful for the
generousity shown by Cayman Prep and High School over the years. Their consistent commitment has
made a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of the children and families we serve, showcasing
the collaborative spirit of our community, especially during this holiday season.”
“We celebrated Harvest with year 4 taking a lead in our Assembly. It was a wonderful service, giving
thanks for the harvest and all we have, and thinking of those in our community who may not be as
fortunate as ourselves by donating food and other essential items. Thank you to all the generous
contributions which were loaded up by year 6 and thank you to DCFS for distributing these on our
behalf.” – Sacha Strand, Cayman Prep and High School Principal.
The annual Harvest event not only marks a time for reflection and gratitude but also serves as a
reminder of the importance of community support. As such, the Department of Children and Family
Services encourages interested organisations and individuals to visit their website for information on
opportunities to contribute and make a positive impact.
